Ahead of assembly polls in Haryana next month, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national coordinator, Akash Anand, on Saturday expressed confidence in the alliance of BSP and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) forming the government in Haryana.

He also criticised the Congress and BJP, stating that both parties are against reservation and pose a threat to it.

"We are getting good response wherever we are going, we are confident that the alliance of BSP and INLD is going to form the government in Haryana. If there is one party that has harmed the most to the people on the issue of reservation and has betrayed our people, it is Congress. BJP is also against reservation. Both these parties are a danger for reservations," Anand told ANI.

The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are jointly contesting the upcoming Haryana elections.

Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a scathing attack against former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, saying that during his 56-day tenure, he has done more to the people than Hooda in his 10 years as Chief Minister.

"People say that we got less time and I got only 56 days after the Lok Sabha elections. In these 56 days, your brother, your son has taken 126 historic decisions for the development of Haryana," Saini said in a campaign rally.

"(Bhupinder Singh) Hooda says that these are only announcements. I told him that you have been the Chief Minister of Haryana for 10 years. If you compare, then my 56-day tenure will outweigh your 10-year tenure," Saini added,

Meanwhile, on September 20, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal, said that the Election Commission of India, along with the Chief Electoral Officer's office, has implemented special measures to increase the voting percentage in the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly General Election on October 5, compared to the last election.

Voters are being encouraged to cast their votes through various SVEEP activities, including slogan writing, painting, street plays, and poster making, Agarwal said.

The Chief Electoral Officer further said that the voters of Haryana are politically aware. In both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the voting percentage here has consistently been higher than other states.

Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5. Votes will be counted on October 8 along with that in Jammu and Kashmir.

In 2019, BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats. Congress won 30 seats. (ANI)
