Assam: Indian Army organises medical camp in Kardoiguri village of Tinsukia

Indian Army organised a medical camp in the remote village of Kordoiguri in Tinsukia district, Assam, on Saturday as part of Operation Sadbhavana, a press release stated.

According to the press release, a team of five general physicians, including three from Civil PHCs of Bandarkhati and neighbouring Tea Estates and two from the Army, alongwith nursing staff, provided comprehensive medical services to over 900 residents.

The medical camp offered medical check-ups, consultations, vital healthcare services and distribution of medicine. This effort not only met the immediate health needs but also emphasised the importance of preventive health measures.

The event underscores the dedication of the Army to promote community health and reinforcing its connection with the residents in the spirit of nation-building, the press release stated.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and other security forces conducted relentless search and recovery efforts across various districts of Manipur on September 9, resulting in the recovery of substantial quantities of arms and ammunition, according to an official release.

The operations resulted in the recovery of substantial quantities of arms, ammunition and warlike stores, highlighting the effectiveness of the joint efforts undertaken by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles with other security forces.

Acting on specific intelligence regarding weapon caches in areas such as Liklai, Mashemjang, P Geljang, Thoroilok, Gelmon, Molphai Tampak, Leisanbung, and Maulnghat in Churachandpur District, a joint search and area sanitization operation was launched by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF, and Manipur Police.

They recovered two 9 mm pistols with magazines, one single barrel 12mm bore and 17 x locally improvised long range mortars, one AK Series rifle, one carbine machine gun, one sniper, one INSAS rifle, three single barrel rifles, one single barrel 12mm bore gun, three pistols, six improvised mortars and warlike stores.

The recovered weapons and war like stores have been handed over to Manipur Police. (ANI)
