Coming down hard on the Congress over its criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's USA visit, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Anurag Thakur said on Saturday that if Congress' ecosystem opposes PM Modi like this, the country will never accept them.

Thakur told ANI, "Might be the Congress' ecosystem has failed to understand that during his visit to the US, PM Modi is representing India as the PM of 140 crore Indians. If Congress' ecosystem opposes PM Modi like this, the country will never accept them. Rahul Gandhi should be ashamed of shaking hands with those who oppose India and apologise to the country."

"The language of Congress, Rahul Gandhi and Pakistan's Defence Minister is the same. Their intentions look similar as well which is anti-India. He gets the support of 'tukde-tukde gang', gets them in their party and meets anti-India forces when going abroad," he added.

On September 20, the general secretary-in-charge of communications of Congress, Jairam Ramesh, posted on X and criticized PM Modi's visit to the US.

He said, "So the non-biological PM is going to embark on yet another high-profile global visit in between campaigning in J-K and Haryana. But why does he still adamantly refuse to go to Manipur? This refusal is simply inexplicable and really inexcusable. Why is this continued and shocking insensitivity on his part? The people of the state still await him."

Notably, PM Modi will participate in the sixth Quad Leaders' Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, which is being hosted by US President Joe Biden in his hometown on September 21.

Quad brings together four countries--India, Australia, Japan, and the United States. India will be hosting the Quad Leaders' Summit in 2025. PM Modi will join US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss regional security and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who commenced his three-day visit to the US on Saturday said he will take part in various programs and will have a bilateral meeting with President Biden.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called the Summit a 'once in a generation UN Summit'. 'Summit of the Future' is an important milestone in the history of the UN as it enters the 80th year of its establishment in 2025.

Notably, India and United States enjoy a comprehensive global strategic partnership covering almost all areas of human endeavour, driven by shared democratic values, convergence of interests on a range of issues, and vibrant people-to-people contacts. (ANI)
