Calling them (INDIA bloc) "anti-nationals" and "anti-Ram", BJP chief JP Nadda hit out at the Congress top brass for remaining silent over the "anti" Sanatana Dharma remarks of DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin.

"They are 'Ram virodhi', (anti Ram) 'Sanatana virodhi' (anti religion) and 'Rashtra virodhi' (anti-nationals). Under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, UPA Government had filed an affidavit before court that Lord Ram was fictional...They had said that Lord Ram has no historical base or scientific base...Ram Janmabhoomi was pending before the Supreme Court...,"said Nadda.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi paved the way to the court and on January 22, Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla was done at the grand Ram Temple...," he added.

He was addressing a public meeting in Gujarat's Dahod.

He also lashed out at Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin over his "anti" Sanatana Dharma remarks.

"The Minister had said that Sanatana Dharma was like Dengue and Malaria. And Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had maintained silence," the BJP Chief added.

"Should you allow such people to come forward (by voting for them)," he asked the people.

Gujarat, the home state of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is a citadel of the BJP, with the party winning all 26 seats in the last two general elections.

Gujarat will vote for 25 out of 26 parliamentary seats in the Lok Sabha elections on May 7.

On the remaining constituency of Surat, BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected 'unopposed' after the nomination papers of the Congress party's candidate Nilesh Kumbhani were rejected, as his three proposers claimed in an affidavit to the district election officer they had not signed his nomination form.

The general elections are being held in seven phases in a marathon six week exercise running from April 1 to June 3. (ANI)
