With release of a new logo; 'Time For Change', the campaign against child exploitation has also been kickstarted with an aim to return all joy and freedom of childhood to all those children who have been suffering due to ongoing practice of child labour. This logo symbolises the commitment towards removing the menace of child labour. It is an offence to employ children under the age of 14. Ms Dikshit appealed to all manufacturers and employers to desist from employing children. She further exhorted them to put this logo at their workplace and on their products. She asked people to join hands to restore childhood to its rightful owners. Also present at the function were Labour Minister Mangat Ram Singhal, Women and Child Development Minister Kiran Walia, Secretary (Labour) K S Wahi and Secretary (WCD) Manoj Parida. On this occasion, Ms Dikshit also launched a website called 'Found Children Website', which would disseminate information about all lost children residing in various Childrens Homes in Delhi. It would be now much more convenient for the parents of missing children to get information about them. They can log on at www.cwc.wcddel.in. The Chief Minister said it would be in the fitness of things if children who had been taken out of ambit of child labour could be imparted useful education including skill development. She directed the Departments of Labour, WCD and Education to work in tandem to achieve this goal. Labour Minister Mangat Ram Singhal assured that 'Time For Change' campaign would be forcefully implemented in true spirit so that this menace could be completely abolished. WCD Minister Prof Kiran Walia said there were many laws available against the exploitation of children: the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2000, Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976, Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 and Children (Pledging of Labour) Act, 1933, Factories Act, 1948, Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, Child Marriage Restraint Act, 2006 which should be enforced strictly.
