The BJP on Friday accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of brutally murdering one of its workers in Purba Medinipur district.

According to the BJP, the party worker, identified as 18-year-old Dinabandhu Midya, had been missing since Wednesday and was found hanging on Thursday night with injury marks on his body.

"TMC is a Talibani (T) Party whose motive is to Murder (M) by cruel (C) means. Dinabandhu (Dhananjay) Midya, 18 years old. His father, Sudarshan Midya, is an active BJP worker in Goramahal village. BJP MP Locket Chatterjee also condemned the murder of Dinabandhu Midya and accused TMC goons of committing the crime.

Chatterjee also stated that TMC's Taliban's tactics of silencing opposition voices with brutality must be vehemently opposed.

"The barbaric murder of Dinabandhu Midya, son of Sudarshan Midya, a dedicated BJP worker, by TMC goons is an appalling act of cowardice!. TMC's Talibani tactics of silencing opposition voices with brutality must be vehemently opposed," Chatterjee said in a post on X.

It is worth noting that this incident has occurred at a time when voting for the second phase in West Bengal is underway in the three constituencies of Darjeeling, Raiganj, and Balurghat.

Last year, during the panchayat polls, the BJP accused the TMC party of committing violent acts against them. (ANI)
