Actor and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Hema Malini urged the people to convert their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi into votes and come out in huge numbers to exercise their right to franchise.

She also said that the people are showering their support to the party and the lotus will definitely bloom in this election.

Speaking to ANI, Hema Malini said, "It was a huge gathering at Home Minister Amit Shah's rally. It shows the support of people. I urge the people to go out and exercise their voting rights. People do tell me that you'll be winning with a margin of 5-7 lakhs, it feels good. But, to make this happen, people should go out and vote."

She further said that less voting happened in the first phase of elections because people are "confident" of BJP's return to power. The actor further urged people to showcase their responsibility towards the country.

"Less voting happened in the first phase because people are confident that PM Modi is winning, but for him to win, every one of you has to go out and vote. Every vote is valuable," she added.

"The BJP's lotus will definitely bloom all over India and definitely in UP as so much work has happened here and people have seen it. The work PM Modi has done here, neither has such work been done before, nor will anyone do it in the future. I know everyone knows how much work PM Modi has done, but to convert it into votes, you all will have to go out and vote. It is our responsibility towards your country," Hema Malini further added.

Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of MPs (80) to Parliament, will vote across all seven phases. Mathura will go to polling during the second phase on April 26.

Hema Malini is a two-time MP from Mathura. She brought the seat back into the BJP's fold in 2014 and will be seeking a third term this time. (ANI)
