Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu) | April 15, 2024 11:58:44 PM IST
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday advocated for making India a developed country by 2047 and targeted Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Congress, saying that the support of Tamil Nadu people for the BJP has given sleepless nights to the DMK, INDIA bloc.

Addressing the audience at a public rally, the Prime Minister took a dig at the DMK and the INDIA bloc and said, "Your support is giving sleepless nights to the DMK and INDIA bloc..."

He further said that the people now understand how DMK and Congress are against the nation.

"People now understand how the DMK and Congress are against the nation. They have given away Katchatheevu Island to another country. They have kept the people of Tamil Nadu in delusion. Fishermen are still facing the repercussions of their action," he added.

The Prime Minister said that for those who love Tamil language and culture, the BJP has become their first choice.

"For years, DMK and Congress used to say that the BJP has no existence in Tamil Nadu. But this election will break this delusion of the DMK and Congress. They don't have any fair points to ask for votes," he said.

He firmly asserted that 'My 24/7 is for 2047' hinting at making India a developed country by 2047.

"All the surveys say that Tamil Nadu's mothers and sisters are showering their blessings on PM Modi. A lot of political experts do not understand why this is so? They do not know that during the last ten years, Modi has served mothers and sisters. The BJP has done development in Tamil Nadu because it respects Tamil Nadu's heritage. Takes inspiration from it...The BJP is working towards the dreams of politicians such as MGR," he said.

All 39 seats in Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase on April 19 and the counting of votes will be held on June 4. Tamil Nadu ranks fifth in terms of Lok Sabha seats, with 39 seats, including 32 unreserved seats and seven reserved for SC candidates.

The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country will be held in seven phases starting April 19. (ANI)
