Ramtek (Maharashtra) | April 10, 2024 11:58:26 PM IST
Taking a jibe at the INDIA bloc, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that whenever 'abuses' against him and his parents increase, one should understand that Bharatiya Janata Party is going to register a huge victory in the elections.

He further said that the Opposition parties cannot see the rise of someone from a poor family.

Addressing a public meeting in Maharashtra's Ramtek on Wednesday, PM Modi said, "On April 19, you don't have to just choose the MP, but you have to strengthen the country's foundation for the next 1000 years. You have to vote for the resolve of Viksit Bharat."

Taking a jibe, he said that the news channels don't need to spend money on conducting surveys and instead proposed a 'formula' to understand the trend ahead of the polls.

"Nowadays, TV channels and media platforms are coming up with their surveys which is showing a bumper win for NDA. But, today I want to help the media people. Why do you people spend so much money on these surveys? I want to give them a trick to save costs," Prime Minister Modi said.

"When abuses against me increase, understand the trend. When they (Opposition) start abusing my late mother and father, When questions are being raised against EVM, understand the trend," he added.

Coming out heavily against the INDIA bloc over Rahul Gandhi's 'Shakti' remark, he asked the voters to "punish" the Opposition alliance by not letting them win even a single seat in Maharashtra.

"They want to finish Hindu Dharma's 'Shakti'. Will you let this INDI alliance win even one seat in Maharastra? Shouldn't they be punished for this sin?...BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP have come to you, every single vote of yours is not just to make them win but also to punish them (opposition)..." PM Modi said.

He also attacked the Opposition alliance over their 'democracy in danger' allegations and said that as soon as someone from a poor family rises in life, the Opposition alliance starts crying foul.

"INDI alliance and their people are spreading lies that if Modi comes to power the third time, then democracy and constitution will be in danger...Since I have come into politics, not one election has gone, when they have not come up with the same repeated excuses. They even said this during Atal ji's time. It shows that their bankruptcy that they don't even have a new idea," PM Modi said.

He added, "Was democracy not in danger during the Emergency? When they had all the power from north to south, from east to west, was democracy not in danger then? As soon as a poor person's son became the PM, they started seeing democracy in danger. This INDI alliance can never see a poor person rising...but despite how much they attack this poor person's son, Modi will not step back from serving the people."

The Prime Minister, metaphorically said that his work in the last 10 years is only 'appetiser' and the real 'thaali' (plate) is yet to arrive.

"The work I have done in the last 10 years is an appetiser, Thali and baaki hai. In the next 5 years, we have to take India and Maharashtra much ahead. I give you a guarantee - 'Har pal desh ke naam, har pal aap ke naam'; 24 by 7 for 2047," he stated.

Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-largest after Uttar Pradesh. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 23 out of 25 seats it contested in alliance with the undivided Shiv Sena.

Elections to the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra will be held in five phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20. the counting of votes will be done on June 4. (ANI)
