Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday paid a surprise visit to a wedding ceremony held in Khatima.

The Chief Minister blessed the newly wedded couple. Notably, the marriage was held in CM Dhami's hometown Khatima.

Meanwhile, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the country, CM Dhami urged all the people of Uttarakhand to cast their votes. "Tomorrow all 5 seats of the state will go to polls...I am meeting everyone and appealing to them to vote," he added.

Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand Chief Electoral Officer Dr BVRCC Purushottam held a meeting with all the departments and agencies at the secretariat in connection to the provision of essential services for the Lok Sabha elections.

According to information from the Election Office, "The Chief Electoral Officer directed in the meeting that medical staff should be present in all hospitals on the day of polling till the end of polling."

Apart from this, the concerned departments related to electricity and drinking water supply should ensure arrangements at all polling stations.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a roadshow in Haldwani on the last day of the election campaign, earlier on Wednesday.

After winning all five seats in Uttarakhand in the 2014 and 2019 general elections, the BJP is attempting to retain them for a third term.

Notably, the BJP won all five seats in both the 2014 and 2019 general elections and will be looking forward to repeating its performance.

The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19. Nearly 97 crore voters are eligible to cast their votes in the general elections this time. The counting of the votes is scheduled for June 4. (ANI)
