In a significant push towards the socio-economic upliftment of minority communities, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday attended the programme for the distribution of loan assistance to beneficiaries and inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Sankhyalaghu Unnayan Prokolpa 2026 at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala.

The initiative aims to strengthen financial inclusion and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for members of minority communities across the state through targeted financial assistance and welfare interventions.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government's commitment to ensuring inclusive development and equal opportunities for every section of society.

He said the newly launched Mukhyamantri Sankhyalaghu Unnayan Prokolpa 2026 has been designed to empower minority communities by improving access to financial resources, encouraging self-employment, and enhancing socio-economic security.

During the programme, Saha distributed loan assistance to selected beneficiaries, enabling them to establish or expand income-generating activities and improve their livelihoods.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is implementing various welfare programmes with the objective of achieving balanced and inclusive growth, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every community without discrimination.

The event was attended by senior government officials, public representatives, and beneficiaries from different parts of the state, marking another step in Tripura's efforts to promote economic empowerment and social inclusion among minority communities.

Earlier, the Tripura government on Tuesday signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) to strengthen financial literacy, promote entrepreneurship and create a vibrant investment ecosystem in the state.

The agreements aim to improve financial awareness, support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), enhance the skills of government officials and equip young people with knowledge of capital markets and financial planning.

Announcing the development, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said the partnerships mark a significant step towards opening a new era of economic development through greater access to capital markets.

"These strategic partnerships will empower our youth, support MSMEs, enhance the capacity of government officials and promote a vibrant investment ecosystem," the Chief Minister said in a social media post. (ANI)
