Saket Court on Thursday took a serious view during the recording of Prosecution Evidence in the Shraddha Walkar murder case. The court asked the defence counsel for accused Aaftab Amin Poonawala to complete the cross-examination of the prosecution witness, Head Constable (HC) Deepak, by July 30, saying that sufficient opportunity has already been granted.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Hargurvarinder Singh Jaggi cautioned the defence counsel and said that if he fails to conclude the cross-examination, the law shall take its own course.

"The defence counsel is put to notice that sufficient opportunities to cross-examine the witness have already been granted. In case he fails to conclude the cross-examination of the prosecution witness by tomorrow, the law shall have its own course," ASJ Jaggi ordered on July 29.

Head Constable Deepak was recalled for further cross-examination after 28.07.2026. He was further cross-examined, and his remaining cross-examination was deferred at 4 PM.

Advocate Akshay Bhandari, the defence counsel for the accused, submitted at BAR that he will conclude the cross-examination of HC Deepak tomorrow.

"Let fresh summons be issued to the Investigation Officer, Inspector Ram Singh, SI Ankit Sharma, HC Deepak and HC Siddharth MHC (M) PS Mehrauli with case property for 30.07.2026 at 02:00 P.M," ASJ Jaggi ordered.

The court is recording the Prosecution evidence on a day-to-day basis. Aftab Amin Poonawala is facing trial for allegedly murdering Shraddha Walkar.

Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Madhukar Pandey appeared for Delhi Police. (ANI)
