Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha on Tuesday termed the death of two workers near Patna Metro construction site "unfortunate" and said that the investigation into the incident is underway.
"This is an unfortunate incident. The investigation is ongoing and we are receiving information about it. My condolence is with the family of the deceased," Vijay Sinha told ANI. Earlier, Bihar Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nitin Nabin said that the State government has directed the Patna District Magistrate and the Metro administrations to conduct an inquiry and submit a report into the accident during the metro tunnel construction in Patna. "We have received information about the death of two people and four are injured...They are under treatment. The incident happened due to technical reasons. We directed the Patna DM and the Patna metro administrations to do an enquiry and submit a report... After this, further action will be taken," the minister said. Two workers died while six others were injured in ann accident during metro tunnel construction in Patna on Monday night. Pirbahore Thana, Patna, SHO, Abdul Halim said, "Yesterday night, due to a fault in a machine in the tunnel, two workers died and six workers were injured." There are reports that the deceased and the injured labourers are from Odisha. (ANI)
