Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis releases special tribute song in memory of Asha Bhosle, composed by AR Rahman

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis released a special song in memory of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, in the presence of music maestro AR Rahman, state Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar and singer Zanai Bhosle.

The musical tribute was unveiled at an event in Mumbai, bringing together prominent personalities from Maharashtras political and cultural spheres to honour the enduring legacy of one of Indias most celebrated voices.

Maharashtra CM shared details about the tribute song on X, saying, "Asha Tais Divine Voice Will Live Forever! On the birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan and Maharashtra Bhushan awardee, late Asha Bhosle, composer A. R. Rahman has created the beautiful tribute, Asha Forever.

Asha ji's voice was filled with extraordinary energy and emotion. Even at the age of 90, her performances reflected the same passion and vibrancy that touched millions.

Asha Forever is a heartfelt tribute to her remarkable legacy and inspiring journey. Through her timeless songs, Asha ji will continue to bring joy and inspiration to generations to come."

Asha Bhosle was born on September 8, 1933, and her career spanned several decades. She is widely regarded as one of the most versatile singers in Indian music. Her distinctive voice and ability to perform across genres earned her a lasting place in the countrys musical history.

The tribute song seeks to celebrate her contribution and keep her musical legacy alive for future generations.

The release comes as a tribute to the legendary singer whose songs have continued to resonate with audiences across generations, making her an iconic figure in Indian cinema and popular music.

Widely regarded as one of the most versatile singers in Indian music, Asha Bhosle's repertoire spanned classical compositions, ghazals, cabaret songs, and contemporary pop. She holds a Guinness World Record for the most studio recordings and, along with her sister Lata Mangeshkar, helped define the golden era of Hindi film music.

Born to classical singer and theatre actor Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, she began her musical journey at a young age and went on to build an unparalleled legacy.

Her collaborations with composer RD Burman, whom she later married, remain among the most celebrated in Indian cinema. Her iconic hits include Piya Tu Ab To Aaja and the rebellious Dum Maro Dum.

Her versatile range also spans the soulful ghazal Dil Cheez Kya Hai, playful classics like Chura Liya Hai Tumne, and the timeless dance anthem Yeh Mera Dil.
