"A character that still lives in my heart": Sunny Deol celebrates 30 years of 'Jeet', recalls Karan's love, anger and sacrifice

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol on Sunday marked 30 years of his 1996 romantic action film 'Jeet', recalling the journey of his character Karan and thanking fans for their continued love and support for the movie.

Sharing a special post on Instagram, Sunny Deol celebrated three decades of the film and remembered the emotions attached to his role.

"30 years of Jeet. Karan, his love, his anger, his sacrifice -- a character that still lives in my heart. Thank you for all the love you have given this film for 30 years," Sunny wrote in the caption.

The actor also shared glimpses from the film, which featured his character Karan and highlighted the memorable moments from the movie.

Directed by Raj Kanwar, 'Jeet' was released in 1996 and featured Sunny Deol alongside Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Tabu and Amrish Puri. The film revolved around themes of love, loyalty, revenge and sacrifice, with Sunny portraying the role of Karan, a man caught between his emotions and his circumstances.

Over the years, 'Jeet' has remained one of the memorable films in Sunny Deol's career, with fans continuing to revisit its songs, dialogues and performances.

The actor's post received appreciation from fans, who celebrated the film's milestone and shared their memories associated with the movie.

Sunny Deol, known for his powerful performances in films such as 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', 'Border'' and 'Damini', continues to remain one of Hindi cinema's prominent actors.

He is currently seen in 'Batwara 1947', also starring Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, the film's music has been composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

Set during the 1947 Partition, the movie follows a family whose lives change as violence, fear and forced migration affect communities that had lived together. (ANI)
