Hyderabad (Telangana) | August 23, 2026 10:58:23 AM IST
BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) said the newly completed Adilabad IT Tower marks another major step towards expanding the IT sector across Telangana.

KTR said the IT Tower in Adilabad would help extend the IT industry beyond Hyderabad and create new opportunities in the district, located around 300 km from the state capital. He expressed hope that the facility, scheduled to be inaugurated soon, would generate employment opportunities for youth from Adilabad and neighbouring areas.

He said the BRS government had taken up construction of IT towers in Tier-2 cities with the objective of decentralising the IT industry and taking companies to different parts of the State. The government had also created the required infrastructure and taken measures to attract leading IT companies, he added.

KTR recalled that IT towers were inaugurated during the BRS regime in Warangal, Siddipet, Suryapet, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Khammam and Karimnagar.

However, he alleged that the Congress government was failing to properly maintain the IT towers and that reports of inadequate facilities were emerging. He urged the State government to immediately address the issues, ensure all necessary infrastructure and facilities, and take steps to attract more IT companies.

KTR further called upon the government to focus on creating large-scale employment opportunities for local youth through the IT sector.

Earlier, KTR questioned senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's silence over the alleged police crackdown on students in Telangana, while he was protesting in support of students in Delhi.

In a post on social media platform X, KTR asked Rahul Gandhi when he would stage a protest against the alleged repression of students by the Congress government in Telangana and when he would sit in protest outside Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's residence in Jubilee Hills.

"Rahul Gandhi ji, you are protesting for students in Delhi. When will you protest against the atrocities committed by your Congress government against students in Telangana? When will you sit in protest outside the Chief Minister's Jubilee Hills residence?" KTR asked.

KTR alleged that while Rahul Gandhi had questioned the police lathi-charge on students in Delhi and expressed solidarity with them, he remained silent over incidents in Telangana where, he claimed, police had used force against students, dragged them away and suppressed their rights.

He urged Rahul Gandhi and the Congress leadership to acknowledge that students in Telangana have the same constitutional rights as students elsewhere and demanded that the government take action against those responsible for alleged police excesses. (ANI)
