Reinforcing its commitment to strengthening India's preparedness in the era of artificial intelligence, advanced cyber threats and evolving information warfare, CyberPeace has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) to establish a Chair of Excellence on AI Safety and Strategic Communication Strategy in New Delhi, according to a press release.

The initiative marks a significant step toward building a dedicated strategic research and policy platform to address emerging challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and information ecosystems.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Maj. Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President, CyberPeace and Lt Gen (Retd) Dushyant Singh, PVSM, AVSM, Director General CLAWS. As part of this collaboration, CyberPeace and CLAWS will work together on developing research outputs such as policy briefs, analytical reports, and expert consultations. The initiative will also explore capacity-building efforts, including discussions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing engagements with relevant stakeholders.

The Chair will focus on emerging areas such as AI-enabled misinformation, deepfakes, cyber-enabled information operations, and the broader impact of digital technologies on public discourse.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen (Retd) Dushyant Singh, Director General CLAWS said, "The convergence of AI, cybersecurity, and information warfare presents both opportunities and challenges for national security. This collaboration will enable deeper research, strategic insights, and capacity building to support India's defence and policy ecosystem in navigating this complex landscape. CLAWS and Cyber Peace will work jointly towards achieving these objectives."

Speaking on the initiation Major (Retd) Kumar, Founder and Global President, CyberPeace, said, "As artificial intelligence reshapes economies and societies, global cooperation becomes essential to ensure that innovation progresses alongside trust, safety, and accountability. The MoU would significantly benefit as this collaboration will enable deeper research, strategic insights, and capacity building to support India's defence and policy ecosystem in navigating this complex landscape."

The collaboration aims to generate actionable policy recommendations, strengthen national capacity, and support informed decision making for government, defence, and civil society stakeholders. Planned outputs include policy briefs, threat assessments, training programs, and international dialogues.

With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research and real-world impact, the Chair of Excellence reflects a shared commitment to advancing secure, resilient, and trustworthy digital ecosystems. This initiative marks an important step toward strengthening India's preparedness in addressing evolving AI driven information and security challenges, the release said. (ANI)
