Following a seat adjustment with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the recently established Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), which will run in its debut election, has announced its candidates for the national and Punjab assembly seats, ARY News reported on Friday.

The Jahangir Tareen-led party has fielded 12 candidates for Islamabad and Punjab National Assembly seats, while 27 individuals are running for Punjab Assembly seats, according to the list made available to ARY News.

Jahangir Tareen - IPP's patron-in-chief - will contest the election from NA-149 and NA-155 (Lodhran), while President Abdul Aleem Khan will do so from NA-117 (Lahore).

Sharjeel Meera is the contender for NA-56, while Ghulam Sarwar Khan will run from NA-54 (Rawalpindi). For NA-70 (Sialkot), Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan wins the ticket, and Rana Nazir Khan is the chosen candidate for NA-79 (Gujranwala).

In the meantime, Hashim Dogra from NA-133 (Kasur), Malik Nauman Langriyal from NA-143 (Sahiwal), Mohammad Ayaz Khan Niazi from NA-147 (Khanewal), Gul Asghar Khan from NA-88 (Khushab), and Humayun Akhtar Khan from NA-97 are scheduled to run, ARY News reported.

The party hasn't yet revealed its nominees for the NA-48 seat in Islamabad and the NA-128 seat in Lahore, which are considered two important seats.

Additionally, the IPP introduced its candidates for the Punjab Assembly polls.

Abdul Aleem Khan is a prominent nominee for PP-149 (Lahore) and PP-209 (Khanewal). Nazir Ahmad Khan has been given a ticket to run in PP-228 (Lodhran), whereas Jahangir Khan Tareen will compete from PP-227 (Lodhran), reported ARY News.

PP-12 (Rawalpindi) will field Amar Sadiq Khan; PP-13 will field Malik Azmat Mehmood; PP-16 will field Atif Ali; PP-17 will field Fayyaz ul Hasan; and PP-19 will field Adnan Hasan.

Among the other contenders, Mohammad Mossadeq Riaz from PP-59 and Tahir Mahmood from PP-45 (Hindli) both succeeded in securing party nominations.

Nominations from PP-66 and PP-68 (Gujranwala) were obtained by Rana Nazeer Khan and Rana Umar Nazir.

It is important to note that in June, sugar baron and former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen--who was previously a close adviser to PTI chief Imran Khan--formed the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).

The allocation of electoral symbols will take place on January 13 (today) and the general elections are scheduled for February 8.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has given more time to foreign observers who want to monitor the general elections.

Now, they can submit their applications till January 20. (ANI)
