An advocate, identified as Khaja Moinuddin, died after being hit by a speeding car outside his residence in Hyderabad's Masab Tank area on Saturday morning, with police suspecting the incident to be a case of murder.

According to Nampally police, the incident took place around 6 AM when Moinuddin was getting into his vehicle near his residence under the Nampally police station limits.

"In the early hours today, around 6 am, advocate Khaja Moinuddin was hit by a car driven by unknown individuals as he was getting into his vehicle. The attackers fled the spot. He died while undergoing treatment. We suspect it to be a case of murder. His son has filed a complaint, and we have registered a case and formed special teams to nab the accused," a police official from Nampally police said.

Police said the advocate sustained severe injuries after being struck by the vehicle and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the area. Police said the footage is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation to identify the accused persons and trace the vehicle involved in the incident.

Earlier in the day, police had confirmed that a speeding car rammed into the advocate while he was entering his vehicle outside his residence in Masab Tank.

"We have registered a case and are investigating the matter. We are also tracing the accused," police had said earlier.

Following a complaint lodged by Moinuddin's son, police registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the individuals involved.

Police said special teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the accused.

Further investigation into the case is underway. (ANI)
