Parliament security breach case: Delhi Police files 13,000-page supplementary charge sheet under UAPA

The Delhi Police Special Cell filed a fourth supplementary charge sheet against the accused in the Parliament security breach case, invoking provisions related to terrorist acts, criminal conspiracy and provoking riots.

This case is connected with the security breach of the parliament on December 13, 2023.

The massive charge sheet, running into more than 13,000 pages, is linked to the security breach incident that took place in Parliament on December 13, 2023.

The supplementary charge sheet has been filed on Friday under multiple provisions, including obstruction of public duty, obstructing a public servant from performing duty, provoking rioting, destruction of evidence, criminal conspiracy and offences related to terrorist acts under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Amit Bansal took the supplementary charge sheet on record and listed the matter for hearing on May 29.

"Put up for supply of one set of hard copy of the said supplementary charge-sheet -04 to the counsel for accused Neelam Ranoliya and Amol Dhanraj, scrutiny of documents with respect to the said supplementary charge-sheet-04 and further proceedings on May 29, 2026, at 2 PM," ASJ Bansal ordered.

The court is hearing arguements on the framing of charges.

Delhi Police submitted that it consists of 13,967 pages. Copy supplied to all the accused persons and counsels for the accused persons through a pen drive.

During the hearing, the counsel for the accused Neelam Ranoliya and Amol Dhanraj submitted that the filing of the said supplementary charge-sheet at this stage, when the court is in the process of hearing very lengthy arguments on the charge, is a gross abuse of the process of law.

He further submitted that one set of hard copies of said supplementary charge-sheet -04 be also supplied to him.

Advocate Samridhi Dobhal learned that proxy counsel for special public prosecutor (SPP) submitted that one set of hard copies of said supplementary charge-sheet -04 would be supplied to counsel for accused Neelam Ranoliya and Amol Dhanraj on the next date of hearing.

It has been submitted that the present supplementary charge-sheet has been filed under section 186, 353, 153, 452, 201, 34, 120B IPC & 13, 16, 18 UAPA, and the cognisance of the offences has already been taken. (ANI)
