Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday held a roadshow in support of NDA candidate Anjali Nair in the Thrippunithura Assembly constituency, intensifying the Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) National Democratic Alliance's campaign ahead of the Keralam Assembly polls.

Fadnavis, along with Nair, was seen greeting supporters and party workers as the roadshow passed through key areas of the constituency, with supporters turning out in large numbers.

In a similar show of strength, Union Minister and BJP MP Suresh Gopi held a roadshow in the Dharmadam constituency of Kannur, engaging with voters during the ongoing election campaign.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asserted that Keralam is not just choosing a "new government" but also a "new system," signalling what he described as a significant political shift in the state.

Addressing BJP booth workers virtually under the 'Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Samvad' programme via the NaMo App, PM Modi said, "It is evident that this time, Keralam is not just choosing a new government, but also a new system. In this election, there is a wave of support for the BJP-NDA."

He said the political dynamics in the state are changing, claiming that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and United Democratic Front (UDF) have shifted focus towards targeting the BJP. "Thiruvananthapuram has set a new precedent... now both are focusing their attacks on the BJP rather than on each other," he said.

PM Modi further alleged that the LDF and UDF are "using fundamentalist forces to divide society" and exploiting faith, while also accusing them of corruption and financial mismanagement.

Urging party workers to strengthen outreach, he said, "You should visit every household... ask people to grant just five years to the BJP-NDA." Calling party workers the backbone of the campaign, he added, "To me, you are Modi. Every Karyakarta in Keralam is Modi."

Polling for the 140-member Keralam Legislative Assembly will be held on April 9, with counting scheduled for May 4. (ANI)
