Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Monday joined the protest held by the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) students against NEP 2020, UGC draft rules, and paper leaks at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.

Addressing students, the Congress leader said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is attempting to destroy the Indian education system.

"See, one organization is trying to destroy the Indian education system, and that organization is the RSS. If our education system falls into their hands, the country will be destroyed, and employment will be finished," Gandhi said.

"RSS-nominated candidates are now Vice-Chancellors in universities across India. Now, state universities' Vice-Chancellors will be nominated by RSS. The biggest issue in the country is unemployment. A few days ago, the Prime Minister spoke about the Kumbh Mela. It is good that he spoke about the Kumbh, but I wanted him to speak about employment," he said,

"Your government has made the youth of this country unemployed and you should speak about that too. BJP-RSS model aimed to give all the wealth of the country to Ambani and Adani and hand over all institutional organizations to the RSS," the Congress leader said.

"We are all united, and we will fight together," the Congress leader further added.

Delhi Police on Monday detained National Students' Union of India (NSUI) workers protesting against NEP 2020, UGC draft rules, and paper leaks at Jantar Mantar.
