"An unforgettable experience of flying a jet at Aero India 2025": Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Tuesday took a sortie on an indigenous jet aircraft, HJT-36 'Yashas', during the Aero India show in Bengaluru.

According to a release, "The minister took a sortie on the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)-manufactured HJT-36 'Yashas', an indigenous jet aircraft that highlights India's advancements in aerospace and defense manufacturing."

Sharing his experience on X, Naidu wrote "An unforgettable experience of flying a jet at Aero India 2025. Had the incredible opportunity to do a sortie on the HJT-36 'Yashas', a remarkable jet aircraft proudly made in India by HAL. This indigenous marvel is a testament to India's growing prowess in aerospace and defence manufacturing. Thrilled to witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision soaring to new heights with state-of-the-art avionics."

According the release, Ram Mohan Naidu's participation in the event and his sortie in the HJT-36 'Yashas' signifies India's remarkable progress in achieving self-sufficiency in defense production.

His experience underscores the growing strength of the country's aerospace sector and highlights the role of HAL in driving India's defense aviation capabilities.

With Aero India 2025 setting the stage for advancements in aviation, India continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in aerospace technology, reflecting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Meanwhile, Adani Defence & Aerospace, in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Tuesday unveiled India's public-private partnership-based Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System at Aero India 2025.

According to Adani, the platform was launched by Dr BK Das, Director General (Electronics & Communication System), DRDO, in the presence of esteemed guests from DRDO, defence experts, and industry partners, underscoring India's commitment to strengthening indigenous defence capabilities.

Developed in collaboration with DRDO, this state-of-the-art system marks a significant step in enhancing India's defence preparedness against evolving aerial threats.

With the increasing use of drones in modern warfare for both reconnaissance and offensive operations, the need for a robust anti-drone mechanism has become imperative.

The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System ensures long-range protection, agility, and precision, making it a formidable asset for modern defence forces. It offers seamless protection through advanced sensor capabilities, including automatic detection, classification, and neutralization of drones. (ANI)
