As trends show that Mahayuti is set to repeat the government in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' mother, Sarita Fadnavis said on Thursday that his son has worked hard and without any doubt, he will become the Chief Minister.
Speaking to ANI, Sarita Fadnavis said, "Of course, he will become the CM. It is a big day as my son has become a big leader in the state. He was working hard at all 24 hours." The Mahayuti alliance on Saturday noon seemed poised for a landslide victory in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, crossing the crucial majority mark and leading in over 200 seats. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis posted on X and said, "Ek hai to Safe hai", Modi hai to mumkin hai." Meanwhile, Devendra Fadnavis is currently leading on the Nagpur South West seat with a vote margin of almost 20,000. He got 62,947 votes till 12:30 pm, as per the Election Commission. By 12 noon, celebrations were seen at key locations, including the residence of Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, with party workers rejoicing in the alliance's strong performance. Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, along with his party leaders, were seen celebrating with 'laddoos.' His son, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, was also seen celebrating with fellow party members. Reacting to the results, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate admitted, "Maharashtra election results are opposite to our (Congress') expectations. There is no doubt we could have done better. Our campaign was good, but maybe the public expects more from us, and we will deliver on their expectations." In response to the results, Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut said, "This cannot be the decision of the people of Maharashtra. We know what the people of Maharashtra want." (ANI)
