Bharatiya Janata Party MP K Laxman slammed Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing the Congress party of 'misleading' people.

He further said that the people of Maharashtra know "how to teach a lesson" to Congress.

"Revanth Reddy as a CM of Telangana and as a Congress leader is misleading the public. Maharashtra people are clever enough they know how to teach a lesson to these Congress people and Revanth Reddy you will come to know what has happened in Haryana that is going to be repeated in Maharashtra, and Jharkhand also," K Laxman told ANI.

Earlier in the day, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, lashed out at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing the BJP of acknowledging its impending defeat by pulling PM Modi out of the state.

"Today is the last day for campaigning in Maharashtra. PM Modi has left the country. This means that BJP and PM Modi have accepted their defeat and they have left the battlefield," Reddy told reporters in Pune.

He further slammed the BJP for attempting to divide the nation to secure electoral victories, adding, "I saw some advertisements by the BJP in newspapers today, they are trying to divide the country to win elections...Staying the Prime Minister for three terms and 11 years, PM Modi has nothing to say about the works he has done."

The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20. The second phase of polling in Jharkhand will also be held on the same day. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.

The opposition MVA coalition, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), seeks to reclaim power in the state, challenging the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.

In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42. (ANI)
