Lost a party's pillar: BJP leader Arvind Gupta condoles demise of Devender Singh Rana

BJP leader Arvind Gupta on Friday expressed grief over the demise of BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana, saying that it was a huge and immeasurable loss to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Speaking to ANI, Arvind Gupta said, "Devender Rana ji was a great leader. He had a bond and relationship with me but he was connected to everybody and had a personal touch with everyone. No one was big or small for him. This loss cannot be measured, a party's pillar has been lost. No one can take his place."

Nagrota Assembly constituency sitting MLA and BJP leader Devender Singh Rana passed away at the age of 59 on Thursday.

BJP leader Nand Kishore Sharma also consoled the passing away of Devender Rana and said, "Devender Singh Rana played the role of a big brother to me. His passing away is a big loss to the state and BJP party. He had a brilliant and influential persona, it is unfortunate we lost him."

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha offered his condolences on the demise of BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana and said that the country has lost a patriotic and widely respected leader, who was devoted to the welfare of the people in the union territory.

In a post on X, Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha wrote, "I am deeply grieved to learn of the untimely demise of Devender Singh Rana. In his passing away, we have lost a patriotic and widely respected leader, who was committed to the well-being of the people of J-K. I extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti."

People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti also condoled the demise of BJP MLA Devender Rana."Shocked to hear about the sudden demise of Devinder Rana ji. Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones," Mufti wrote on X.

Devender Singh Rana was one of the key candidates in the recently held Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. He emerged victorious from the Nagrota, defeating his rival, Joginder Singh of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC). (ANI)
