He will be replacing the outgoing PCC President, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who stepped down from the post after he lost to Trinamool candidate Yusuf Pathan in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from the Baharampur constituency.

The Congress party also appreciated the contribution of Chowdhury.

In another development, Kharge also appointed party leaders MK Bhardwaj and Bhanu Mahajan as acting working presidents of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee.

"Congress President has appointed MK Bhardwaj and Bhanu Mahajan as Acting Working Presidents of the Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect," an official statement of the party said.(ANI)
