Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday released the book "Khaki Mein Sthitapragya" written by former Director General of Police of Uttarakhand, Anil Raturi, at the IRDT auditorium located at Survey Chowk, Dehradun. Anil Raturi has written this book based on his memoirs and experiences as an IPS officer.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that through this book, Anil Raturi has presented the memoirs, experiences and challenges of his service period as a police officer in an interesting way. He said that being the same in both success and failure is Sthitapragya.

This book will help the people coming into service to take decisions. The Chief Minister said that when we realise that no one is going to support us on earth, then we rise above the ground and come into a state of direct connection with God; this is also Sthitapragya. This is possible only by the grace of God.

The Chief Minister said that Anil Raturi worked as a successful and conscientious officer. The Raturi couple made a special place for themselves not only in Uttarakhand but also in the country with their work and behaviour. Both of them made their own reputation by doing extraordinary work in public interest while being simple.

During his service period, Anil Raturi faced many difficult challenges and solved the problems with the power of strong will. He said that it is important for a human being to have the quality to achieve the goal while keeping his mind calm while working.

The Chief Minister said that the police have a big challenge to maintain peace and law and order. To face every challenge, it is necessary to have patience along with strong will.

This is such a journey in which there are many ups and downs and challenges, in this it is important to maintain morality and patience in adverse circumstances. Today the police have modern technology. Earlier, the police had to face big challenges despite having limited resources.

Anil Raturi, author of the book "Khaki Mein Sthitapragya" said that through this book he has tried to describe some important memories, experiences and challenges based on his three and a half decades of experience as a police officer. He said that the powers given to the police to maintain peace and law and order, it is necessary to use them properly for human welfare.

Through this book, an attempt has been made to show how our new officers can face challenges and move forward on their path of work with patience and be able to fulfill their responsibilities with full dedication and strong will. He said that the success of any work is not only the role of one person, many people contribute to it.

Vice Chancellor of Doon University Prof. Surekha Dangwal said that there is a belief that if there is a uniform then one cannot be a Sthitapragya and if one is a Sthitapragya, then he cannot wear a uniform. Anil Raturi has broken this myth with the inspirational journey of his life that one can be a Sthitapragya in uniform. He said that the influence of T.S. Eliot is visible in the writing style of Anil Raturi.

A person who behaves the same way in happiness, sorrow, passion and in his ups and downs of life is a person of steady wisdom. He said that through this book he has told that the life of a police officer is like the edge of a sword. It is not necessary that if you enter the Chakravyuh and break it, you will be called victorious, if you do not break it, you will definitely be called unsuccessful.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi sang Mangalgeet on the occasion of the inauguration of the programme.

On this occasion, DGP Abhinav Kumar, former Chief Secretary N Ravishankar, litterateur and former Vice Chancellor Sudha Rani Pandey, senior officers of the government and police and eminent personalities associated with the field of literature were present. (ANI)
