Political leaders, devotees throng temples to seek Lord Krishna's blessings on Janmashtami

On the occasion of the Janmashtami festival, devotees flocked to temples across the country to seek Lord Krishna's blessing on his birth anniversary, with political leaders like Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel paying their obeisance.

Devotees flocked temples on Tuesday across north and east India on Janmashtami on Monday to celebrate the birth of their beloved Lord Krishna, rending the air with chants of 'Hare Krishna' and lining up in long queues.

In Mathura, special prayers are underway at Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.

In Karnataka, special prayers are underway at Bengaluru's ISKCON temple on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.

Meanwhile, aarti was performed at Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple, also known as Birla Temple, on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami.

In Odisha, special prayers were performed at Bhubaneswar's ISKCON temple.

In Rajasthan's Ajmer, special prayers and celebrations are at Ajmer's ISKCON temple on the occasion.

On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, people gathered at the ISKCON Temple in Hyderabad.

Moreover, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan offered prayers at Bhopal's ISKCON temple in Madhya Pradesh.

In Kolkata, aarti was performed at Kolkata's ISKCON temple.

On the occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel offered prayers at Ahmedabad's ISKCON Temple.

In Chandigarh, there was Shri Krishna Janmashtami Celebration at Shri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math Temple, Sector 20.

In Jaipur, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma offered prayers at Jaipur's ISKCON temple.

In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, 56-Bhog was offered as prasad at Noida's ISKCON Temple on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami 2024.

As the sound of bells and conch shells resonated throughout Mathura, the devotion and excitement surrounding Shri Krishna Janmashtami were palpable.

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated on August 26 this year across the country. Devotees traditionally fast and decorate temples and homes with flowers, diyas, and lights. (ANI)
