Max India Foundation commemorated 10 years of unwavering commitment to providing quality healthcare by launching a coffee table book today summarizing their journey, milestone achievements and stories of hope. The book titled ‘Nascent Steps’ was released by Mr. Analjit Singh, Managing Trustee, MIF and Mr. Rahul Khosla, President, Max Group at The Claridges Hotel, New Delhi in the presence of NGO partners, beneficiaries and senior management from Max Group.

Over the past decade, Max India Foundation has made significant strides in executing healthcare-focused CSR activities for the underprivileged, carving a niche for itself with its quality of execution and compassion. The foundation has spread its wings in 772 locations across the country, benefitting the lives of 30 lakh people till date.
Highlights of the past decade
  • 6 lakh patients benefitted through 2313 health camps
  • 1.36 lakh patients benefitted through health centres
  • 1.56 lakh vaccine shots administered to children in 1254 immunization camps
  • 7,600 high-end surgeries done free-of-cost at Max Hospitals
  • 18.41 lakh individuals reached through health and hygiene awareness initiatives
  • 4819 artificial limbs provided to the physically challenged

Over the last 10 years, MIF has unceasingly partnered with reputable NGOs such as CanSupport, SOS Children’s Village, Manav Seva Sannidhi and Chinmaya Mission to undertake various healthcare initiatives, onboard rail Operation Theater – Life Line Express, ‘Clean Delhi Clean Yamuna’ campaign, support for disaster relief victims amongst others.

The Foundation’s efforts have been spread across 4 major verticals:

  1. Healthcare
Awareness and Prevention: MIF has conducted Immunization camps for children and Health Awareness camps around dangers of tobacco, cancer screening, and importance of hygiene in freedom from dengue through screenings, talks, films and mass-media. Over 18.41 lakh individuals have been reached through health and hygiene awareness initiatives.
Treatment: MIF regularly conducts health camps and has set-up health centres to provide free consultations as well as medicines to the underprivileged, even in remote locations like- Ladakh, besides Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand. MIF has extended support to 7,600 critically ill underprivileged needing high value surgeries and treatment including a large number of paediatric cardiac surgeries, reconstructive surgeries, neuro surgeries, orthopaedic surgeries, cataract surgeries and oncology care.
MIF also conducts an annual Mega Artificial Limbs & Polio Calipers Camps across the cities of Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun and Mohali. Since 2008, nine mega camps have been held with an average footfall of nearly 250 physically challenged individuals.

Capacity Building:
  1. Traditional Birth Attendants- Training program across all districts of Uttrakhand; 1413 Dais successfully trained in 2015
  2. Improving Maternal Health in Tribal Population of Southern Rajasthan- The trained birth attendants have reached over 15,000 beneficiaries in Rajasthan reduce maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate .
  1. Village Adoption
Max Foundation has adopted 3 villages- Rail Majra near Ropar Punjab, Dhakrani and Chandrothi Gram Sabha in Dehradun, Uttarakhand and is running intensive program committed towards providing improved quality of life to the villagers on the health and hygiene platform.
  1. Drug de-addiction
MIF joined hands with UNODC in to curb the drug menace in Punjab and has been supporting De-addiction Centre in Baramulla since April 2016. The partnership also covers Rail Majra. The Centre organizes drug de-addiction seminars, recreational activities, individual and group counselling sessions, motivational talks and occupational rehabilitation. So far, the drug de addiction program has benefited 642 youth.
  1. Environment conservation
MIF has planted thousands of trees as well as medicinal plants for the welfare of the future generations. The objective is to improve green cover, enhance oxygen supply as well as arrest soil erosion.
