India continued their dominant run in para-athletics at the ongoing Para Asian Games in Hangzhou as Simran Vats secured a silver medal for the country in the women's 200 m T12 event on Thursday.
In the final, Simran clocked timings of 26.12 seconds to finish the race. She finished behind Iran's Hagar Safarzadeh Ghahderijani, who clocked the timings of 25.87 seconds. The bronze medal went to China's Yaqin Shen, who achieved the timing of 26.36 m. In the 2018 edition of the games in Indonesia, India won 72 medals, consisting of 15 gold, 24 silver and 33 bronze. But India has outdone itself in Hangzhou, securing their best-ever medal tally at the games. India has won 45 medals in para-athletics itself, with 14 golds, 16 silvers and 15 bronze medals.
