Mitchell Starc's fiery spell didn't allow India to even surpass the average first innings ODI score of 241. The way Australian openers Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head chased the target of 118 with 39 overs to spare showcased the flaws in Indian batting.

In the post-match conference, he said, "Marsh has to be one of the top players going around when it comes to power hitting. He backs himself to do that every now and then. Definitely in top 3 and 4 when it comes to power hitting, Rohit continued." The ODI series is now on level terms (1-1).
