Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) | April 26, 2024 11:00:39 AM IST
Rajasthan BJP state president CP Joshi cast his vote on Friday in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Chhittorgarh constituency.

The seat is witnessing a fierce contest between the BJP's State President, Chandra Prakash Joshi, and Congress' Udai Lal Anjana, a former Rajasthan minister, who gained prominence in the 1998 Lok Sabha polls when he defeated former Defence Minister Jaswant Singh from the seat.

After casting his vote, Joshi told ANI, "There should be good voting; there should be voting in the national interest; and there should be voting in favour of the BJP. There is a belief among the public that Modi should become Prime Minister for the third time. There is no comparison to the work that Modi ji has done in these 10 years."

Further, he said that the BJP will win all 25 seats in Rajasthan with a huge majority.

"Rajasthan is the land of heroes. This land never accepted Mughal invaders. The politics of appeasement is flourishing somewhere under the rule of Congress on this land. The BJP will win all 25 seats with a huge majority in Rajasthan," he added.

In the 2019 elections, Joshi won the seat by defeating Gopal Singh Shekhawat of the Congress by a margin of 5,76,247 votes. The BJP leader secured 9,82,942 votes.

Meanwhile former CM Vasundhara Raje also cast her vote at a booth in Jhalawar. Her son Dushyant Singh is contesting from the seat, he is also the incumbent MP from the seat.

After voting BJP leader Vasundhara Raje said, "I feel, that with the kind of voting we are seeing this time, BJP will win again and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister again. In this constituency, our candidate Dushyant Singh has received good support and he will have a historic win."

Voting for the 13 seats in Rajasthan is underway in the second phase.

Voting for the 12 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan was held in the first phase on April 19.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP registered a sweeping victory, winning 24 out of 25 seats in Rajasthan, while the remaining one seat was won by Rashtriya Loktrantrik Party candidate Hanuman Beniwal. (ANI)
