Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior slammed his side for their performance against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League, calling it "unacceptable in every aspect" and questioning the "lack of intensity" in the team.

Brighton and Hove Albion produced a dominant display to defeat Chelsea 3-0, while Crystal Palace and West Ham United played out a goalless draw in their respective English Premier League (EPL) fixtures. The loss compounded Chelsea's struggles, marking yet another disappointing outing in a poor run of form where they have failed to find the net consistently. According to ESPN, Chelsea has now lost five straight league games without scoring a goal for the first time since 1912.

Speaking after the match to Sky Sports, as quoted by Goal.com, he called for things to "change drastically" following the loss.

"By far. It was unacceptable in every aspect of the game, unacceptable in our attitude. I keep coming out and defending the players. That is indefensible, that performance tonight. The manner of the goals we conceded, the number of duels that we lost, and the lack of intensity in the team. Something needs to change drastically right now," he said.

He said that professionalism was not there in his side's performance, saying that "some of the things he witnessed, he never wants to see again".

"The professionalism was not there. It is a really difficult night. The most difficult night, not just here, so far, at this magnificent football club, but in my career. Some of the things I witnessed today, I never want to see again," he said.

Chelsea had a growing list of injuries heading into the match, with stars like Cole Palmer, as well as Estevao and Joao Pedro sitting out. In their absence, the multi-champions looked clueless and devoid of ideas, but the manager is taking no excuses for the lack of "attitude, spirit and determination in the playing XI".

"We need to look in the mirror; I need to look in the mirror," he conceded. "But I cannot keep coming out here and defending some of the things we are seeing. The general attitude, spirit, and determination were lacking apart from maybe three or four of the XI," he signed off.

Following their defeat to Chelsea, the side slipped to seventh place in the ongoing Premier League standings, with 48 points from 34 matches, having registered 13 wins, nine draws, and 12 losses so far this season.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion F.C. climbed to sixth position with 50 points from 34 games, recording 13 victories, 11 draws, and 10 defeats in their campaign. (ANI)
