Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Minister Pralhad Joshi at his residence in New Delhi and held discussions on key priorities for Assam, including education, food and civil supplies, and renewable energy.
According to the DIPR release, following the meeting, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described the interaction as a 'very productive meeting' and said, "Our discussions covered key priorities for Assam across education, food and civil supplies, and renewable energy." The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister 'for his positive approach and continued support for Assam'. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said the Chief Minister visited his Delhi residence for the first time since taking oath for his second consecutive term as Chief Minister of Assam. "Chief Minister of Assam Shri Himanta Biswa ji visited my Delhi residence today for the first time since taking oath for his second consecutive term as Chief Minister of Assam," Joshi said. He said the discussions focused on ways to 'further strengthen and streamline the implementation of #SamagraShiksha in Assam', with particular emphasis on ensuring robust and seamless financial support for teachers under the scheme. The Union Minister further said that the two leaders discussed ensuring seamless fund flow under the SNA-SPARSH mechanism, in line with the scheme's framework, to facilitate timely salary disbursement and strengthen the delivery of quality and equitable school education across Assam. The meeting also covered key issues relating to food and civil supplies and renewable energy, reflecting the continued focus on strengthening Centre-State cooperation for Assam's development. (ANI)
