Uttarakhand CM Dhami transfers Rs 146.32 crore pension benefits to 9.87 lakh beneficiaries

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday transferred Rs 146.32 crore in pension benefits through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to 9,87,017 beneficiaries under various pension schemes of the Social Welfare Department for July 2026.

The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to the welfare of every section of society. He said pension amounts are being transferred directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts in a timely and transparent manner, ensuring that eligible citizens receive the benefits of government schemes directly. He added that the government's objective is to ensure that welfare schemes reach the people at the last mile.

CM Dhami said that vulnerable sections of society are an integral part of the government's family. He stressed that the government is working to ensure that elderly parents, widows and persons with disabilities do not have to make repeated visits to government offices to receive their pensions.

"Our resolve is to ensure that every eligible citizen receives their rightful benefits with dignity, on time and without any inconvenience," he said.

The Chief Minister further said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working continuously to strengthen and make Uttarakhand self-reliant, following the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. He said the development of the state is possible only through the development and welfare of every section of society.

Social Welfare Minister Khajan Das said that the pension instalment for July 2026 has been disbursed by the Social Welfare Department. This month, pension benefits were provided to 9,87,017 beneficiaries under various pension schemes. The beneficiaries include around 2.15 lakh pensioners covered under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, whose payments are currently being processed through the new SNA-SPARSH system.

According to the department, a total of 9,87,017 beneficiaries received pension benefits in July 2026, with 146.32 crore disbursed under various schemes

Of these, 6,15,628 beneficiaries under the Old Age Pension Scheme received 1,500 per month, amounting to 92.34 crore. Widow Pension was provided to 2,36,983 beneficiaries at the rate of 1,500 per month, with 35.54 crore disbursed.

Under the Disability Pension Scheme, 89,128 beneficiaries received 1,500 each, amounting to 13.36 crore. 27,288 beneficiaries under the Farmer Pension Scheme received 1,200 each, with 3.20 crore disbursed.

Additionally, 8,284 beneficiaries under the Abandoned Women's Pension Scheme received 1,200 each, amounting to 99.408 lakh. 7,383 beneficiaries receiving Maintenance Grant were provided 700 each, totalling 51.68 lakh.

Under the Teelu Rauteli Pension Scheme, 2,196 beneficiaries received 1,200 each, amounting to 26.35 lakh, while 127 beneficiaries under the Dwarf Pension Scheme received 1,200 each, totalling 1.524 lakh. (ANI)
