Meanwhile, Asmita Dey secured the women's gold medal with a composed and determined performance, overcoming Canada's Heidi Quach by Yuko (2-1) to script a historic victory. Meanwhile, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also congratulated Indian judoka Yamini Maurya for securing a silver medal in the women's 57 kg judo event at the Commonwealth Games. In a post on X, Mandaviya said, "India shines bright in Judo! Congratulations to Yamini Maurya for securing a Silver medal in the 57 KG Judo event at the Commonwealth Games." Mourya secured a silver medal in the women's 57kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2026 after a closely contested final against England's Acelya Toprak ended in defeat on Friday. In another post, Mandaviya congratulated Khelo India athlete Harsh Singh for his gold medal-winning performance in the men's 60 kg judo final. He said, "Golden glory continues for Bharat!
