With only a few days for the Bankipur by-polls, former Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal United (JDU) MP Nitish Kumar on Monday urged voters to vote for the NDA candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha.

In a video message, he said, "Voting is scheduled for July 30. With your trust, cooperation, and blessings, we have worked with utmost sincerity over the past two decades to implement good governance and development rooted in justice. Every single vote of yours is crucial to maintaining this pace of development and realizing the resolve for a developed Bihar. I urge all voters to extend their blessings to the NDA's young candidate, Neeraj Kumar Sinha, and ensure his victory by a massive margin."

BJP national president Nitin Nabin also urged voters to back NDA candidate Neeraj Sinha, describing him as a dedicated party worker who rose through the organisational ranks from booth president and mandal president to assembly nominee.

"On July 30, when NDA workers and supporters step out to vote, I am fully confident that Neeraj Sinha's victory will establish a new milestone. Today, I have come among you with a candidate who is an ordinary BJP worker--someone who started his journey as a booth president, served as a mandal president, and is now standing before you as the candidate for the BJP and the NDA alliance," added the BJP chief.

The Bankipur Assembly seat fell vacant after Nitin Nabin, who served five terms as its MLA, was elected to the Lok Sabha. The by-poll on July 30 is being viewed as a crucial test of strength in urban Bihar ahead of the broader state assembly elections.

On July 2, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for bypolls to three Assembly Constituencies in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, which includes the high-profile seats of Bankipur, Datia, and Manjalpur.

The polling for the three assembly seats in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat will be conducted on July 30 (Thursday), while the counting of votes is slated for August 3 (Monday). (ANI)
