Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is an important digital health initiative of the Central Government to provide digital health identity to every citizen of the country as well as bring health services under a secure and integrated platform.

Saha said this while attending a meeting chaired by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J P Nadda.

The meeting was also attended by the Health Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, Union Minister of State for the concerned ministries Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada, and other members of the Mission Steering Group.

The Chief Minister said that ABHA accounts have been opened for about 80 per cent of the population in the state. Besides, the work of the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Health Professional Registry (HPR) has been completed 100 per cent.

"So far, about 18 lakh digital tokens have been distributed among patients in 31 government hospitals through Scan and Share services. As a result, the waiting time for patients has been reduced, and services are also being provided faster. Various services are being provided digitally to patients coming for medical services at IGM Hospital, which has been developed as a model hospital under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission," he said.

Dr. Saha said that West Tripura district has been selected as a model district under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to implement various programmes.

"A door-to-door awareness programme has been started in the state to open ABHA accounts for 100 per cent of the citizens," said Saha.

The Chief Minister further said that all government and private hospitals in the state covered under PM-JAY and CM-JAY have been instructed to launch the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Integrated Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).

"Initiatives have been taken to link the Integrated Hospital Management Information System (IHMIS) with various government health portals for the easy exchange of patient information and health records. The National Health Claim Exchange will be launched in all government hospitals covered under PM-JAY and CM-JAY in the coming days. As a result, it will be possible to avail of health insurance in a fast, paperless, and easy manner," he added.

The meeting was also attended by State Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Saju Wahid A, and Executive Officer of Ayushman Bharat Tripura, G Sharath Naik. (ANI)
