Women wrestlers'' sexual harassment case: Court hears final arguments by counsel for complainants against former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh

The Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday heard the final arguments on behalf of the complainants against former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in an alleged sexual harrasment case. The hearing was conducted in a closed courtroom.

This case linked with the FIR filed by women wrestlers during his tenure as the Wrestler Federation of India (WFI) chief.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar are facing trial in a case connected with the allegations of sexual harrasment of women wrestlers in India and abroad by Singh when he was heading the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Ashwani Panwar recorded the final arguments on behalf of the complainants advanced by the senior advocate Rebecca John. Her arguments will continue on Thursday also.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar concluded their arguements on Tuesday.

Advocate Rajiv Mohan, assisted by Rehan Khan and Rishabh Bhati, appeared for Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

On May 12, 2026, the court recorded the statement of a member of SIT. The court has also recorded the statement of the investigation officer.

Women wrestlers participated in a protest at Jantar Mantar. An FIR was lodged by Delhi Police based on a complaint given by a woman wrestler.

Delhi police had filed a 1500 page charge sheet on June 15 2023, after an investigation against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar. (ANI)

The charge sheet was filed under sections 354, 354 D, 354 A, and 506 (1) of the IPC. (ANI)
