Ahead of the upcoming Kumbh Mela scheduled to take place in Haridwar, Uttarakhand Minister Ram Singh Kaida has expressed confidence that the mass religious gathering will be "historic" under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Speaking to ANI, Kaida stated that the government has instructed officials to ensure robust law and order so that every developmental project is completed with total sincerity.

"There is no doubt that the upcoming Kumbh, held under the leadership of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, will be historic. We have also instructed police officials to ensure robust law and order so that no one has any grievances, and to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed with the utmost sincerity. Certainly, progress is being made on all ongoing development works. All tasks will be completed by October," Kaida said.

He further briefed the media about a recent meeting attended by saints and Mahants from all the Akhadas. Kaida added that the government has taken measures to guarantee uninterrupted water and electricity supplies, alongside hassle-free parking, promising that these and other issues raised during the meeting would be resolved.

"Regarding the demands placed before the government, respected Mahants from all the Akhadas had gathered here. There will be no issues regarding parking, and we are ensuring uninterrupted water and electricity supplies. We assured them that these concerns, along with others they raised, would be addressed. A productive meeting took place today, attended by respected saints and Mahants from all the Akhadas," the Minister added.

In preparation for the Kumbh Mela 2027 to be held next year in Haridwar, special emphasis is being placed on the rapid development of infrastructure, the expansion of facilities for pilgrims, and the establishment of modern surveillance and control systems for enhanced security.

Efforts are underway to fast-track the implementation of related projects on the ground. In this regard, the state government has approved the construction of a new Command and Control Centre building (CCR-2) for the Kumbh Mela, along with two new bridges over the Sukhi River and the Mayapur escape channel.
