Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Monday stressed that the Centre and states are not enemies but partners working together for the country's development, calling for cooperation to achieve the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

During the Republic Day celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram, Arlekar said, "They are not Enemies we may have differences, but not at all enemies. We are friends, we are colleagues in the March towards the development of this country."

"It doesn't mean that the centre and the state should be in different roles. We are not Enemies neither the Centre nor the state; all have to follow the path of coming together, hand in hand and walking together towards the progress of this country. Then only will we achieve the Viksit Bharat vision in 2047. It is not the vision of the centre only, it is the vision of every state in this country, and more particularly of ours also. So Viksit Bharat, as I always say, the path to viksit Bharat passes through viksit Kerala."

Arlekar said that Kerala has always led the country in education, healthcare and social reforms, and called on citizens and political parties to work towards achieving 100 per cent voter participation in the upcoming elections.

"Kerala is always a leader in this country. In education in medical facility in social reforms in all other fields, now let us path our new way, let us show our country that Kerala is this time going to vote 100 per cent voting will be achieved by Kerala that is what we are trying to do 79 and 80 per cent if we are not satisfied with that 100 per cent voting will be aim of our people so in the coming elections I appeal all to the all the people particularly the political parties also they also should go to the voters they should make aware the people," he said.

India is celebrating its 77th Republic Day, as the nation comes together to mark the adoption of the Constitution and showcase its rich cultural and military heritage. (ANI)
