The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday took disciplinary action against Parvinder Kaur Brar, President of Longowal Municipal Council, and suspended her from the party steps due to anti-party activities.

Along with her, Kamal Brar and Karam Singh Brar were also suspended from primary membership of the party with immediate effect, as per an official party statement.

The statement read, "It has come to the notice of the Party that you have been involved in anti-party activities. Accordingly, the Party hereby suspends you, along with Kamal Brar and Karam Singh Brar, from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party with immediate effect."

Meanwhile, AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj, on Saturday, along with other party leaders, reached Raj Ghat in the national capital to protest against the BJP over the alleged circulation of a doctored video of Delhi Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Atishi.

In a press release, the Jalandhar Police said the FIR was registered on a complaint filed by Iqbal Singh after several social media posts circulated a short video clip purportedly showing Atishi making derogatory and blasphemous remarks against Gurus.

"Several social media posts containing a short video clip allegedly showing Atishi, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, making allegedly derogatory and blasphemous remarks against Gurus with highly inflammatory captions have been uploaded on social media platforms," the release stated.

According to a forensic report dated January 9, 2026, the word "Guru" was not uttered by Atishi in the audio clips circulating on social media.

"Vide Forensic Report dated 09-01-2026, it has emerged that the word 'Guru' has not been uttered by Atishi in her audio as contained in the video clips being circulated on social media. Furthermore, there has been deliberate doctoring of the video to attribute words in the captions that were never spoken by Atishi," the release clarified.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, police said. (ANI)
