Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vishvas Sarang on Monday criticised Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai over his 'nimbu mirchi on Rafale' remarks, saying such comments on Indian Air Force aircraft falls under the category of treason.

Sarang also highlighted that he was surprised that at the time when people of the entire nation are with the Indian Army and soldiers why the Congress party was making such a remark.

"Congress is working on Pakistan's agenda. It is the country's misfortune that Congress has always been conspiring to weaken our army and soldiers. I am surprised that when the people of the whole country are with the Indian Army and soldiers, why is Congress making such remarks? Recently, a Congress MP from Punjab (referring to Charanjit Singh Channi) put a question mark on Air strikes and surgical strikes," Sarang told ANI.

He added, "I wonder, Congress is forgetting that this mentality will not work in this country anymore. Sometimes talking to Pakistani reporters and sometimes mocking our Prime Minister through tweets and it gets retweeted by Pakistan. Sometimes putting a question mark on the Army's action and now the remarks on our aircraft of the Air Force definitely falls under the category of treason."

Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief on Sunday drew flak from NDA leaders after he criticised the Central government's "big talk and no action" against perpetrators of Pahalgam terror attack saying that they purchased Rafale fighter jets but those are lying in hangars with "nimbu mirchi" (lemon and chillies) hanging on them.

Displaying a toy plane with Rafale written on it and with lemon-chillies hanging on it, Ajay Rai said, "Terrorist activities have increased in the country, and people are suffering from it. Our youth lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack... But, this government, which talks a lot, says that they will crush terrorists - they brought Rafale, but they are in their hangars having chilly and lemon hanging in them. When will they take action against terrorists, those who support them, and their backers?"

Meanwhile, Minister Sarang also reacted to a resurfaced video of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi where a Sikh youth in the US is seen questioning the Congress over its association with leaders accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and said that the party should answer it.

"In the case of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the Congress is already being blamed, the Congress party has to answer it," he added. (ANI)
