Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya on Saturday congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their win in the Delhi assembly elections.

Speaking to ANI, Bhattacharya said that the double engine government in the national capital had several challenges ahead of them and they must fulfill everything promised to the government.

"I congratulate the BJP for their win in the Delhi elections. Now there is a double engine government in Delhi and there are several challenges ahead of the party. Better roads, schools, clean water... they have promised everything, so they must fulfill it..." he said.

BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat said that the public would not support AAP again. She also took a jibe at Arvind Kejriwal and said that he did not allow the public of Delhi to get the benefits of the central government's welfare schemes.

"The public will not support the AAP again. Arvind Kejriwal did not allow the public of Delhi to get the benefits of central government welfare schemes...The public of Delhi has voted in favour of the BJP government..." Sehrawat said speaking to ANI.

Furthermore, she stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi the country had become the fifth largest economy in the world.

The BJP MP also took a jibe at Kejriwal and said that his government had only spread lies in the national capital.

"The public of Delhi saw two governments in the past 10 years. One is working at the centre from 2014, under the leadership of PM Modi which made India the fifth-largest economy of the world...On the other hand, there was a government which always spread lies in Delhi and the condition of roads and sewage in Delhi is very bad..."

The Bharatiya Janata Party is set to form the next government in the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT-Delhi) after 27 years, having crossed the majority mark of 36 seats in the 70-member assembly and beating the 10-year rule of Aam Aadmi Party. The last time a BJP-led government was in Delhi was between 1993-1998.

According to latest trends from the Election Commission at 4:30 PM, the BJP has won 40 seats, and leading in 8 others. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has only won 17 seats, and leading in 5 others. (ANI)
