Assembly Speaker and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr.Raman Singh on Saturday expressed gratitude to all BJP workers for their efforts and said people of Delhi have rejected the politics of lies and deceit.

He also lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for securing a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Speaking to ANI, former CM Singh said, "Expressing their trust in PM Narendra Modi's guarantee, the people of Delhi have given a clear mandate to the BJP... I thank all BJP workers for this historic victory... The people of Delhi have rejected the politics of lies and deceit."

He further added, "Over the past twenty-seven years, despite the Bharatiya Janata Party's role in the opposition, I believe people grew tired of Kejriwal's false promises. His schemes collapsed on the ground, and the entire nation witnessed his involvement in corruption, which ultimately led to his imprisonment. If he (former CM Arvind Kejriwal) misused his position as Chief Minister, the public clearly saw through his facade. As a result, he not only lost the election himself but also dragged his entire party down with him."

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Delhi for delivering a decisive mandate in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Delhi Assembly elections.

He also assured that his party, the BJP, would make every effort to ensure the development of Delhi and the well-being of its residents.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the "rule of lies" has ended in Delhi and this is the beginning of a new era of development and trust in Delhi.

BJP is leading or has won 48 seats and AAP is ahead or has won 22 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly. BJP is poised to come to power in Delhi after 27 years. (ANI)
