Jagadguru Shankaracharaya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj, has appealed to the devotees to take holy dip anywhere in the Kumbh Kshetra and there is "no specific place" for it.

"I appeal to the devotees to remain patient and take a holy dip anywhere in the Kumbh Kshetra. There is no specific place where the devotees should gather to take a dip," he told ANI.

A stampede-like situation occurred at Maha Kumbh in the early hours of Wednesday, resulting in several injuries. The incident occurred as millions of devotees gathered at the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers to take a holy dip on the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya, which also marks the day of the Second Shahi Snan.

He further expressed grief over the stampede and said that it was unfortunate and precautions should be taken to avoid any such incident in the future.

"The incident that took place late at night was unfortunate and everyone is sad but we should be cautious that no such incident happens in the future," he said.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand also informed that all three Shankaracharayas of the country would be taking a holy dip at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

"All the three Shankaracharyas of the country are going to take a holy dip here today," he added.

Flowers and petals were also showered on the saints and seers who took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on the occasion of the Mauni Amavasya.

Meanwhile, Akhadas today took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam with their deities for the Amrit Snan.

President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Mahant Ravindra Pur said that the Akhara members would vacate the ghats very quickly so that the devotees would be able to take a holy dip.

"We are going for Amrit Snan and thousands of saints and Nagas are coming with me... We will vacate the ghats very quickly so that all the devotees who have come here are able to take a holy dip," Ravindra Puri told ANI. (ANI)
