Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, accusing him of being the "architect" of the alleged "liquor scam" along with former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

While addressing a public rally at the Patparganj Assembly Constituency, Gandhi alleged that Sisodia, the former AAP candidate from the constituency, fled the seat out of fear after being implicated in corruption.

Gandhi said, "Manish Sisodia, who was earlier the AAP candidate from Patparganj, the architect of the liquor scam with Arvind Kejriwal. He did a lot of corruption here, got scared and ran away from this seat. Now you should vote for Anil Chaudhary."

On Arvind Kejriwal, Gandhi said, "He (Kejriwal) said he would clean politics, but in Delhi, the biggest liquor scam happened. You must have seen photos of his house also. He stays in a palace -- 'Sheesh Mahal'... he was not there even when riots happened here."

Gandhi further stated that he envisions a country of love and harmony, not hatred. "Nafrat ka Hindustan nahin chahiye, mohabbat ki dukaan chahiye. AAP's Arvind Kejriwal says anything that comes to his mind. When he came, he said that he would bring a new kind of politics. He had said that he would change Delhi but when the poor people were in need, he was not there..."

The Congress leader also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of ignoring the struggles of unemployed youth while indulging in extravagant events. "The youth of the country does not have employment, but PM Modi dances in parties worth eight to ten crores... The RSS and BJP only want to create fights between brothers," he said.

Referring to a recent statement by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Gandhi accused him of insulting the Constitution. "A couple of days ago, Mohan Bhagwat insulted the Constitution and said that the country had gained freedom when PM Modi came to power. This is an insult to Ambedkar and the poor. The fight is for the Constitution. BJP had said that once they crossed 400 seats, they would change the Constitution, but they have done nothing," he said.

Rahul Gandhi also took aim at Indian businessman Gautam Adani, alleging that he benefits from his ties to PM Modi. "They want to create fights between people from different castes and want to use your money. Adani is a special friend of Modi... his wealth which is brought by his company is ruled by the PM. That's the reality. He (Gautam Adani) is looting you... You dream of employment, but you aren't able to get rid of the rising prices of commodities. You are being distracted into paying GST. I raised this issue in the Parliament but Modi did not answer.. he silently avoided it," the MP said.

The Congress leader promised that, if voted to power, his party would conduct a caste census to ensure equitable participation. "Wherever our government comes, we will conduct a caste census and find out who has how much participation," he said.

Appealing to the public, Gandhi concluded, "I appeal to the public to open their eyes and see the reality. You don't have to be afraid of anyone. You have to fight against the evil of hatred and make sure we spread love in this country. This is the country of brotherhood and love, and we will continue to fight for this and make sure we win."
