Ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has expressed confidence in the party's ability to retain power in Delhi, stating there is a strong wave of support for Arvind Kejriwal. Singh emphasised that despite the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) efforts to oppose Kejriwal, the AAP leader will emerge victorious.
"There is a wave in favour of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal in the entire Delhi and AAP will again form the govt. To fight one Arvind Kejriwal... all the MPs (of BJP) and ministers have come to Delhi, lekin 'jeetega to Kejriwal'," Singh said, pointing to the widespread support Kejriwal enjoys across the city. Meanwhile, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took a swipe at the BJP, urging Union Home Minister Amit Shah to refrain from reintroducing promises that AAP has already implemented in Delhi. "I request Amit Shah ji to please refrain from re-announcing the schemes already implemented by the AAP in Delhi, like free electricity and water. We have already done that for the people. What we want to hear tomorrow is BJP's actual plan and vision for Delhi," Kejriwal said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Kejriwal's remarks came ahead of the launch of the second part of the BJP's manifesto 'Sankalp Patra,' for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. As Delhi heats up ahead of the upcoming elections, both parties have been working to garner voter support. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to hold public meetings and a roadshow in the national capital on Saturday, January 25, ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections in the first week of February next month. Shah's schedule includes two public meetings and a roadshow across key locations in the city-- a first such public engagement considering the elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly on February 5. The two public meetings are expected to be held in Rajouri Garden and Trinagar Assembly constituencies while the roadshow is to be held in the Adarsh Nagar area. The day will conclude with a second public meeting at DDA Park in Netaji Subhash Palace, within the Trinagar Assembly constituency, scheduled for the evening. This event will serve as another platform for Shah to connect with the public and discuss future initiatives for Delhiites. (ANI)
