Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said on Thursday that it is possible to hold the cabinet meeting of the state government in Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh 2025, but reiterated that the UP CM is yet to decide on it.

Besides the cabinet meeting, the tourism minister also spoke about the possibility of holding a state assembly session during the Kumbh, mentioning that multiple people have talked about the meet with the CM.

"As far as the cabinet is concerned and about the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly meeting on the ground of Prayagraj, many people have discussed this with the Chief Minister. Therefore, the decision is to be taken for the cabinet as well as the date of the Assembly, so an assembly meeting may also be held. This decision has been left to the CM," the UP-tourism minister told ANI.

The main bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) of the Kumbh will take place on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).

He further said that Maha Kumbh is being organised by the state government with 'magnificence, divinity and supernatural nature.'

"See, I understand that under the leadership of CM Yogi, giving special importance to Kumbh. Due to which the decision was taken to organize this time's program with magnificence, divinity and supernatural nature, many things have been done to control all such arrangements which include people's feelings of faith," the minister said.

Speaking on the expected guests to the grand event, the tourism minister mentioned that multiple union ministers, governors, ministers of various states and even high commissioners and ambassadors of various countries are likely to visit.

Singh added, "Whatever the decision will be, all our public representatives, all the legislators, MLC, ministers of the Indian government across the country, ministers of different states, governors, high commissioners, ambassadors, and other diplomats from foreign soil will definitely come to this Maha kumbh of faith and take a dip of reverence. There is no doubt about this." (ANI)
